front centre sunblind

By the sound of it, you have the same problem as me. When driving home in the afternoon on a sunny day i get absolutely blinded. The sun comes in above the rear view mirror and between the two sun visors.
Leaves me sitting on the edge of the seat leaning again the door trying to avoid it

First of all, what is the centre sunblind, where does it fit?

Also what does any1 have any advice on sunstrips? Are they easy to fit? or do you know anything else that would solve this problem?

I have one fitted in my car and to be honest it hardly gets used. It could do with being about a centimeter and a bit deeper and a little wider too.

Great idea that could have been improved on.

Yes I would agree with these comments, same problem on my Passat B5 and wife's Polo 9N - maybe the depth of the sunblind was determined with where the mirror would end up - some left a bit of space. I think that both you and I - and others, tend to like to sit very low in the car, if we lifted the seat up a bit this problem would be reduced - but I'd rather suffer the partial inconvenience and sit low in the car.

There is a little recess where it fits into when closed/away, built into the headlining on older models. Not sure if it fits without this?
I expect it is possible somehow though.
I have had a new windscreen fitted and it came with a black etched centre part near the rear view mirror and is much better now

3rd sun visor makes the roof look less bland and goes well alongside the w8 interior light...check my thread for pics of how the sun visor sits perfectly in the recess

Damn it i must be stupid ^^. I went out to my car there to check where the centre sun visor fits and Lo and behold i found my car has already has 1 . Will try it out some day and see if it makes any difference. I drive with my seat as far back as it goes and it looks like it will block most of the light for me.

I tell you, its a great feeling when your car has hidden surprises for you, like the day i found the lever to adjust the steering wheel .
