Looking good Chris, going to sort my pancake after Christmas. I love the rest of the Allard kit I have. Do you find that boost is held much longer too mate? My car actually revs now lol. The sound is mint too, like a low burble at idle but a roar under load.

Yeh it does seem to hold boost better now, and im not suprised after seeing the amount of swelling that goes on with the full SFS kit.

Sounds good indeed, wait until you get the pancake pipe on and wind your window down under boost - its such a weird but wonderful noise.

The only concern I have is how close the Pancake pipe is to the driveshaft and ARB.

I have about 3/4 of an inch from the SFS turbo hose touching the driveshaft and a small gap between the pancake and the ARB.

I don't know if the driveshaft will be touching the SFS pipe when im driving on uneven roads......??

This is just an observations but my gut is telling me that you have angle the turbo outlet pipe wrongly (i may be wrong). It will rub as I found out when I found a 50p size hole in it months later. You can angle the pipe will away from the driveshaft but not sure with the allard pipe as I cant make out the angle?

Can you push your pancake pipe more into the turbo outlet to move it away from the arb?

I twisted the turbo pipe (on the turbo end) anti-clockwise as much as I could. This made the silicon bend twist away from the driveshaft. It wouldnt twist any further round, due to it already pushing up against the platinum grey metal you can see above the driveshaft. If this what you mean though jonjay? You think I should twist it more anti-clockwise?

I've got some days off coming up before Christmas so I shall get back under and have a fettle......I wonder if SFS put the billet connector on the right end? I need to get back under to see if any rubbing has occured and see if I can make a bigger clearance.....

p.s jonjay - do you have any recommendations for clay bars/sprays?

One main problem with the allards pancake replacement pipe is that the oem pancake pipe has a bracket that connects to one of the two screws you can see on the chassis in the wheel arch, but if allard made this bracket on the pipe, surely it would overcome the problem??

Depends what you are trying to achieve with the claybar. They range from mild to aggressive.

A good all rounder is the Sonus Ultra Fine Clay. As for lube I would make your own...couple of squirts of shampoo and warm water.

If your after a quick detailer to give a lovely shine after you washed the car then my current favorite is FinishKare #425 - Ultra Slick Polywipe. Blows me away and makes the car bead like mad.

Right, just an idea, custom turbo outlet pipe in progress, let me know what you think guys :)

This will go over the turbo outlet connector section, so getting rid of the connector :)

Quite a good start. Interesting about it going over. Wouldn't? it easily pop off thought.

I am going to go one properly fabricated with swaged edges and use small a silicone joiner for both ends. This way even if the drive shaft does rub it it should really matter. Good thing I got a spare albeit damaged turbo outlet pipe ;)

Mmm there are two lugs on the actually turbo, where the lugs for the connector goes, once over tight and clamped down, the jubilee should be able to get over the lugs, mmm who would make one for you mate, would you still use a conenctor into the turbo?

I got very capable company that can practically make anything to specification...Also Slick (one of me best mates) is a CAD technician so he can design it. HOWEVER there is no need for designing anything as I got a spare SFS one so they just need to replicate and make improvements.
