Seat sport 4 pots or tt brakes?

I know its a simple choice aps obviously you say.
How ever If it was your money what would you do?

Ap 4 pots brand new(rare as hell to find them second hand): £432 for a set with pads.
TT setup brand new with ebc discs and pads £210.

Obviously you can add another £100 to the aps for discs, but which would you get if it was your money?
Im tempted by the aps but do I really have the need for them? im planning a hybrid with a non smokey map hoping for around 220bhp so the aps are prob overkill but then can your brakes ever be to good?

Post your thoughts as im banging my head up against a wall atm.

Personally for that money, and your future plans, I'd go for the AP's.

Im running TT calipers on my Hybrid turbo PD130 (230bhp) and for normal use there sound. Only issue is if you do trackdays. Not had mine on track but a good friend is running the same setup, and we were suffering from brake fade at Cadwell.

brakes can never be good enough.
my aps are excellent ive never tryed the tt brakes but ive heard good things about them.
as your going hybrid your probally going to lower the car if you havent already which if your not aware makes the brakes even better i found in my last car as you dont have to wait for the suspension to travel.
so id say if you want the cheaper option go with the tt brakes and get better brake fluid. then once you have done that get stiffer suspension and it will make your brakes feel even better i would imagine.
having said all that if it was me id get the ap brakes if i was you and could afford them.

Thanks just what I was looking for I think ill go for them as I suppose theres always space for my to take the power that little bit further some day. Do you know if the seat sport calipers will fit behind the 17x7.5j audi tt comp wheels?

The aps are that price from dave at sere motors. im going to give him a ring and order a set and a fmic tommorow.

Yeah I have coilovers and I would agree with the slight difference.
nothings fitted to the ibiza atm though im just stockpiling parts over the winter and ill just start on the car whhen the weathers a little better.

Don't forget that the APs won't fit behind FR wheels, so you'll have to factor in new wheels to the cost of the APs

I have asked above about this, I have 17"x7.5j audi TT comps which I think will take the aps however im not acctualy sure so lets hope so.
Would there be anyone on this forum you know of with the tt comps and aps?

They will fit matey, ive seen them fit over big brakes on other cars like. Plus they are et32 arnt they and half an inch wider than the standard wheels?

On topic im right tempted by the ap racing 4 pots after seeing the prices sere can do them for, only thing is ill need new wheels first Probs be tt comps unless i could find some cupra wheels. All in the distant future for me though!

Ok 2 of you saying it is enough to convince me I shall place my order tommorow. going to have to part with £750 + P+P for the small list of parts im ordering from dave tommorow.

Itll take me another few steps closer to hybrid though.

No problem mate. I know someone who has a Cupra PD160 on TT Comps.

Nah that includes the calipers (which come with pads), Cupra brake lines (longer), Set of rub strips and mirror caps for colour coding, lcr splitter, seat sport front mount and brakets.

Its not a bad price when you consider what im getting, but im also going to have to order the forge piping tommorow (£250 more) and im going to book my turbo back at long life caerphily ready for around feb - march. Goint to be an expensive day but once I have all these parts all I need more is clutch and turbo and im done.

Dave can supply the discs to if you want for £90 however for that price you can get grooved and dimpled discs.

Found the lsit of bits im getting in my pms:

Pair of side mouldings £19.55
Pair of primered mirror caps £13.50
Leon cupra r splitter £19.80
Pair of AP seat sport calipers £432.80
Pair of brake hoses £28.48
