light on the dash keeps flashing but its now on constantly. Is it the pilot light?

Hi guys, i got a problem with my cupra, a light on the dash keeps flashing but its now on constantly.

The light is the one in the middle on the right i think its the pilot light?? the car also sounds like it does when a coilpack goes but that light doesnt come on when a coilpack goes does it??

Help would be much appreciated

When a coil pack goes the fault light will come on. You checked your coil packs?

so it sounds like a coil pack has gone? so its running rough like a cylinder is missfiring?

then i would look to correct that rather than worry which light it should be, certainly sounds like a coil issue.

If it kept flashing it sounds like a coilpack. Exactly what mine did when it went. I'm surprised your still able to drive it with one gone though... I could barely keep going! Good job I carry spares!

i thought it might be a coilpack but it went away and then came back so thats a bit weird

Mines misfires every so often on full throttle, have no EML though, do I need to wait for it to get worse before it logs a code?
How do I test the coilpacks, do I just go through and replace each one?

Easiest way to do it is to replace them all. What I did though is go out and give a good thrashing and it misfired enough times to bring up a code.

Yeah may try that later on the private test track, was hoping to bring up the eml so I can just replace the one... just bought the christmas pressies you see.

rhysox who used to be on here drove his car for ages with a coilpack gone. was funny when he ended up replacing all of them just to be safe.

but i would say coilpack was gone mate

If it is coil pack (IF) then i would replace all 4, otherwise weeks later you will be replacing them
