Hello to all,

I am new to this forum - I like that there is a huge SEAT following

I have recently bought a 1995 Cordoba 2000 GT and would like some advice - please ?

The previous owner put monster wheels & tyres on the car and the handling and looks are all wrong. Does anyone have any standard wheels/ tyres laying about. I am wanting the car to look as standard as possible. Tried all the usual places- but none about.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum mate, loads of good people with good advice on here mate.
1995 cordoba 2000 GT????
not sure what model you have im guessing you have a Cordoba SX 2.0 16v 3 door, Click my link in the sig for my pics.

Check the for sale section - should be some wheels in their for you somewhere.

the standard size on a 1995 cordy would be 4x100 16" with 195/45/16 tyres.

from the top of my head you can use ANY wheels from the VAG range that have 4x100 pattern- so mk1/mk2/non gti mk3 golfs. seat ibiza, vw polo...
just be careful if you buy 15s as they may not clear the 280 brakes (if you have a cordoba 2.0 16v) 16s would be the best bet.

when you say monster wheels? what size you got on there??

Thanks Naz,

It's a 2000 GT 8v model 1995. It's got "I don't know what" wheels on it - they are silver imitation split rims 205 x 50x 17 - way too wide, tall etc.

The handling is woeful as as far as I know. the suspension is all standard.

Paul

you got a 2.0 8v. Personally never heard them badged as GT though???? what colour you got? is it a 3 door?

yep those tyres sound too tall/wide - 17s wouldnt be that bad with a lower profile tyre but ideally you would want the standard 16s back on..

once youve got 15 posts on here- you'll be able to post pics of your beauty on here for all to see!

check the for sale section on here- guaranteed a find mate.

I had a GTi, which is the same as the GT by all accounts. 4 door with the 2.0 8v and shocking 3 spoke alloys as standard.

Oh and those 17's should have 205/40 tyres on to keep the correct radius.

Thanks for the reply,

I'm in Surrey and if you are willing, I'd be very interested in the wheels. What sort of money would you be looking for and any idea how much a courier would cost ??

All questions I know - I'm a beginner !!

Naz,

It's a 4 door - and after lots of internet looks, it's a GTI - although the log book says GT ??

It's a 1995 with 92,000 on it - goes like its rrrse is on fire, good old VAG !

Cheers,

Paul

CordobaGT,

Thanks - not sure if I'm breaking any forum rules here, but would you accept £100 plus courier charge ?

I need my car sorted out and this Forum is a massive help - I have had a lot of advice after only joining 3 days ago !!

Naz,

I have contacted the person selling the wheels - do you think that the size would be a problem, I mean with calibration of speedo etc.

Thanks for the help !

May well sell my spare wheels if interested? Not had them long but not a patch on my original white ronals after refurb! Look in my album for pics. 16" Oz F1 evo (refurbed - ish!) Note "may" thats why not in the for sale section!
