The price hikes that Ford have done this year is quite ridiculous TBH, almost pushing them into the premium sector and making the Golf look like very good value. Premium manufacturers like BMW have not raised their prices just removed bit's off of the cars or removed them and placed them on the options list, don't know which is better????

But Ford has raised it's price more than anybody and with talk of a further rise after the VAT has gone back on is trully shocking, it seems like Ford are trying to price themselves out of the market in the UK????? A Focus ST is now a £1000 more than it was!!!

I always pick the Focus TDCi Style model and its just hit 19200, thats a low spec model, the Golf Bluemotion which isn't a direct comparison is around 17500 .... Skodas seem cheap but whole life xost wise the golf seems to be winning.

We use Focus estates TDCi style as well at work but I wonder for how long with the price hikes it's 100,000 miles before they get changed usually just over two years. We have some Skoda octavia's and can see us maybe moving to them over time.

Although they Focus holds up to it's grueling life quite well and only have the odd blown turbo and interior generally stays pretty sound and very few brekdowns.

Who would of thought a Golf would be cheaper than a Focus model for model they generally are!!

yep, we run ours to 100k or 4 years, both estate and hatch, genrally they are reliable, we have 1 issue with a Galaxy and a 2 week old fiesta has just broken its gearbox. Skoda doesn't offer much discount but we have had citroen in today ..

Our small cars are Corsa's 1.3 CDTi Club's, and we do have 1 Octavia VRS TFSi, Citroen are not even on the radar. Ford give very big fleet discount as yo say compared to Skoda.
