Right, bought my HID kit from HIDS4U when I got my Leon for the CANBUS system, first off a bulb blew, took numerous weeks to sort it and now they have failed altogether. The so called 'water proof' connections have corroded badly, then the ballast didn't give out the correct voltage as one of the bulbs was far too bright to drive with, thought it was the capacitors at first so swapped them over and had the same fault, now neither work. Sent them an email and haven't got anything back. Anyone else had trouble with them? The set I bought from HIDS-Direct worked fine in my Ibiza so now having gone back to halogens I'm a wee bit annoyed to say the least.
Also on a separate note, I had my Milltek fitted on Saturday and there is no sound difference what so ever, they had to cut a 70cm piece of my original back box to make it fit as it was from a Cupra, do you think thats why? so basically, CAT then OEM pipe onto 3" Milltek? I'm going to ask tomorrow to see how much it will cost to have all the pipe done in 3" up to the CAT. Any ideas?

Danny.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Danny - frustrating when you have to go to the old bulbs.

Although don't know the details in your case, I had excellent customer service from them in the past with my old Fiat Bravo kit.

A bulb blew earlier than I thought - was replaced straight away, and also a faulty ballast as well.

I will instant message you some details of people I dealt with - although was a couple of years ago.

Good luck getting things sorted.

Cheers

Derek

edit - as I cannot seem to find the IM option on the forum - the person I dealt with was Chris Mason at HIDS4U - sales[a t]hids4u.co.uk

Is the milltek a rosonated or non-resonated? if it's resonated it won't be any louder. if you want a sportier note the non-resonated one is the one to go for.

Chan, it's the non-res version. I'm pretty sure it's because of that piece of OEM pipe stuck in there. Videos on youtube show different exhaust notes, albeit they have had DPF deletes, but I'm sure it will change if it's got a larger down pipe in it.

I noticed my r/h HID 4 U Ultimate bulb had gone quite yellow on Sunday, also a lot of moisture had got into both headlights. So, I drove hone ripped the lot out and threw them in the wheely bin and went back to Osram bulbs.

They have been annoying me a little lately after seeing them from a distance from outside the car and seeing how much the light scatters and distorts. This is even with the anti-glare bulbs. I didn't like the messy wires either in the engine bay and the fact the car is due it's MOT in 4 weeks and would fail.

So some lucky binman may get a bargain............Albeit a slightly yellow r/h one.

Only problem I've had, was a ballast packed up on me about a year after I bought the kit.
Sent it back to hids4u & got a replacement within a couple of days.
Had no problems since.

Hopefully, my new lighting project should be even better though!! :D
