JBS have released a fully re-designed Stage 1 IHI underslung kit designed for all 150 & 180 Bhp 1.8 20VT for the Seat Ibiza Mk4.

The kit boasts a full 3" stainless steel downpipe, mounted to JBS Spec VF34 Turbo and fully back purged ST316SS SC10 grade stainless steel TIG welded manifold.

This is the only stage IHI underslung Kit in the UK to have a full 3" stainless steel downpipe.


The new tubular designs concentrate more on collector efficiency and eliminating port sharing.

The manifold and downpipe have been designed in CAD to optimise the collector, flow capabilities and to enable easier fitment. The CAD process allows us to manipulate the part quickly and gather information and measurements, which would be physically impossible to do by hand.

The manifold and downpipe have then been produced directly from the CAD designs to ensure best flow, accuracy and fitment, using laser cut flanges and CNC cut collectors.
The manifolds are built with ST316 AC10 stainless steel runners and cold rolled mild steel flanges, to protect against the higher exhaust gas temperatures.

This Kit can easily provide power outputs of: 300-350bhp.

Our IHI Turbo Kit with Collector Manifold consists of the following components:

JBS Tubular Exhaust Manifold
IHI Turbocharger
JBS Downpipe
JBS High Flow Catalytic Converter
JBS Custom boost hoses
JBS High Flow Fuel Injectors
All Associate Plumbing and Hardware

The most important part of the IHI stage 1 Turbo Kit is the exhaust manifold. JBS has spent enormous time and resources developing the turbo manifold. The exhaust manifold has been designed in the best CAD packages availiable, for 3-D modeling and CFD analysis. By performing a computational fluid dynamics analysis, we were able to study exhaust flow, pressure drops, and fluid flow through the exhaust manifold. Multiple computer simulations were done to prove the design before we even had a physical manifold in our hand.

This stage 1 collector manifold has been design to be produced in tubular format.

The IHI tubular manifold design, like all JBS designed manifolds is:

Fabricated from 316 and cold roled Gradestainless steel
Inside diameter 34mm for better overall power band
Precision TIG welded for maximum strength and liveability
Cutting and separating the head flange insure unbreakable construction
The laser cut head flange are machined ensures sealed surfaces
CNC cut collector to ensure accuracy
The collector is welded inside and out which further prevents cracks.

The same designs process is carried over into all our turbo kit components. The turbo out, TIP and boost pipes have all been design, flow tested and prototype using CAD, to give the best possible performance. Our Boost pipes are available in silicone or stainless steel.

For the JBS stage 1 IHI turbo kits, custom built IHI turbos are used. The turbos are selected for best power output and compatibility with the other components of the turbo kit.

looks like a rather nice kit but then its got to be for £2390.
is there any disadvantage to having a manifold with pipes that arnt equal in length?

Rather than describing it as being disadvantages compared to equal length, its more the advantages of the equal length manifold.

The equal length manifolds are used on larger turbo to help with spool.

For the underslung kits using the small, fast spooling VF34, the unequal length manifolds are easier to fit, due to space constraints, whilst still utilising OEM boost pipes, oil lines etc.



The kit price shown is for the basic components, as many of the other parts depend on what modiffication you already have.
