LCR suspension quesions??

The above is what I followed and is VERY WRONG!!!

This is how I stripped the threads on the bottom of the clutch housing.
The clutch housing is £350 from seat and its a gear box out, strip this piece off of the gear box with new seals, remove differential.
This is a huge job for a very little mistake, I am paying the price now.

PLEASE don't follow the above as its VERY WRONG

so the torgue settings i got from Ollie @ THS Performance are wrong? :headhurt:

The torque figures seem correct, as the post copied I replied to a while ago, you don't stretch the bolts that hold the DBM into the clutch housing as this piece is alloy and you strip the thread, I know I did it!!

i would say leave the front spacers...

i only got the rears because the front track is 19mm wider (each side) than the rear...so 15mm either side kind of neutalizes the car better and i noticed it straight away

I am doing completely the opposite at the moment Bret. 15mm spacers on the front, nothing on the back. Coilovers, strut braces and arbs all round. Very planted and can use the rear end to steer with some encouragement! Very fun set-up :cartman:

Right, i've just ordered all the bolts ill need for these mounts from the guys at my local dealer... i'll be getting all the torque settings from their Elsawin when i pick them up so will post the correct settings here when i get them [B)]

Danny, did you put spacers on the front purely to get the rear end more frisky? wont this just unbalance the car more?

Oh and finally just after a quick bit of guidance... I've strutted my car out nicely and getting all mounts/bushes fitted, i'll be getting ARBs in about 6 months or so but while i've got the suspension out is it worth getting new springs/dampers or coilovers? I'm looking for a nice 20mm drop or so for styling and mainly looking for better handling.. however i dont needthem to be adjustable, i plan on getting the perfect setup for road use which can be straight away put on a track when needed. Are uprated springs/dampers my best bet? I'm not too bothered by cost but there is a big difference between £400 and £1000!

My weitec coilies were £380 and are brilliant in every regard! and yes, I wanted to make the car more larey in the wet :D

Lol good stuff! i'm wanting the car to be as neutral as poss so will prob get some 10 or 15mm rear spacers eventually.

Well i dont mind paying anything up to £500 for the suspension.. just thought i should do it while im upgrading everything else.. I'm really not that clued up on coilovers/springs etc. i just dont really need it to be adjustable but after a nice improvement on handling :clap:
