Also... the engine is a FSI not a TFSI like the prefacelift, and the mechanic says its 242BHP not 237BHP (and no i dont mean PS like the europeans BHP equiv) like the pre facelift.

I asked this question earlier as to which engine is in the facelift cupra and it was believed to be the old TFSI, not the newer FSI.

The BHP isnt what im bothered about but having the newer engine in it is great.

According to the brochure and website it is still the 240PS or 238Bhp engine FSi was for the non turbo fuel stratified injection and the T is for Turbocharged to make Turbocharged Fuel Stratified Injection. But VAG seems to be labeling them as just TSi now

i thought TSI was the new cleaner engine thats in the FR with 210PS (207BHP), and as siad the TFSI is the older engine and that was staying in the FL cupra. Il check in a bit what the feck is in mine lolol. Like i said though dealers say its the newer TSI engine with 242BHP ??

Yes all the new engines are TSi be it the 1.4 or 2 litre. The TSI that is used in the FR is a product of the second development of the 2 litre TFSi. Compared to the first "EA888" development stage, this engine optimized for transverse mounting has new components such as modified pistons and piston rings, a regulated oil pump, a new vacuum pump, a new high-pressure fuel pump and a new mass airflow sensor. The engine fulfills limits of the Euro-5 emissions standard. Some of these components are in the new Cupra as this is also Euro V compliant.

Just drove home from work. 20mins drive or so.

Really dont want to go overboard but, wow it feels like a different car. Steering feels quite abit lighter but when whipping it round a medium roundabout it felt very study like the old one but it was so easy to turn with the lighter steering. One quick turn and i flew round.

Theres a few fast bends on way home too and again really easy steering and felt very solid in the corners.

Engine/exhaust note - bloody hell it sounds excellent, you know that evo magazine lap video on the evo site of the cupra r? With the throatier exhaust note? The FL cupra sounds EXACTLY like that. Quite abit throatier than the pre-FL i had.

Sat nav. Grear, really smooth menues and navigation animations, the more expensive rns510 that i had in my old pre-fl was abit jerky at times. New one really is smooth and the red circle arrow car pointer floats along the map and looks great... And smooth lol.

Air con appears on sat nav when adjusted. Parking sensons also shpw on the satnav screen with a picture of a leon and like radar arches at either end showing how close you get to things, and theres 4 sensors on either end so i found it quite accurate when parking it outside. When reversing the radio went quieter... Nice touch.

Auto lights and rain sensors work as expected.

The large MFD is now white not red, and looks really really nice. Very clear and also has a few bits of extra info over the preFL, also has optimal gear display which is nice too.

The speedo and rev counter is also white with a black center, so the numbers round the edge are illuminated and the center isnt. the pointer thing on each dial also "glows" white against the black back and again looks spot on.

Xenons seems to have a wider field of light than my other.

Also... I didnt hammer it but i didnt drive slow either and the car hit 40-55 mpg on half the journry home doing 40-50-60 mph. Putting your foot down killed the average mpg though but it was 25mpg which is 6 more than my other lol and i did give it the beans a few times.

When pushing the loud pedal it stayed very straight, absolutly no torque steer and a bloody great engine/exhaust noise. Sounds really good.

Thats it for now. Il take pics before i get to work tmoz of the interior and a few more of exterior. Oh quickly, leather seats are really nice, white stitching looks brilliant and totally finishes off the car with white instruments etc.

But to conclude, and again not trying to be overboard but i really am happy i bought the facelift and got rid of my pre fl. Totally 100% pleased with it.

Very nice! I spotted a new Speed Blue FL around the corner from me on the way to Asda. Looked tasty! You've specced it up well, looks nice. Can't make my mind up about white wheel/mirror combo, still deciding! Nice all the same!
