hi guys,
got a few questions for the people that know what they are doing with increasing engine capacity as im fairly useless in this area...:(

anyways, my car is fully paid in march, and ive been resisting the big mods until then, but looking at what other people have done with their engines i have got loads of ideas..

tbh im only looking at 300 bhp and equivalent torque (or more) but obviously dont want to spend masses and masses of cash as i want the car to be a daily and reliable..stage 2 custom code will get me to around 280 bhp, and after researching a hybrid turbo it seems the gains arent really that much..also there is water meth, but i think this will be very time consuming come servicing times and/or filling up....BT is a no no as to get reliable power will be best part of £4000...

what im interesting in looking at is increasing the engine capacity, but extending it to 2 litres with a stage 2 map should hit 300 bhp, but what else comes with increasing capacity? ..stronger internals? forged pistons?..

1. just for a reference point of view does anyone know the full cost of water meth and anything else that goes along with it including fitting costs etc...

2. The full cost of increasing engine capacity and extras etc etc....

if you think its a waste of time then please say, or give me some good advice...thanks

efr 6758 here i come
you would need a stroker kits are quite expensive 2, i was looking at them as was wondering if could get same amount of power as a k1 as engines would be same size,

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=178371&highlight=stroker+kit

not sure if would have to upgrade injectors or fuel pump as im sure would need more fuel to fill the bigger engine ( cylinder ), been told by someone though that you can run on lower octane fuel an will be like running a 1.8 on high octane, i may be wrong but this is what i havew been told.

has no one got any advice on this?

Unless your going big turbo (gt2871 onwards) i wouldn't bother just on the grounds of cost.
I can assure you that a well set up k04 hybrid is the cheapest way to increase power on the LCR by at least 30bhp over a stage2 set up. Air mass readings of 262g/sec are achievable with the hybrid which compared to the stage 2 set up of 210g/sec is a dramatic increase.
Advantages are:-
no need for custom remap.
uses stock injectors, manifold, DP, TIP etc.
Looks Stock.

High flow manifolds are due soon and coupled with wmi kit, i recon 340 will be achievable, up to you if you want to change Rods but if you keep the torque sensible (limit the boost spikes) using a £20 mbc i can't see why you'd have to.

You will be very satisfied with the results of the above.:)

thanks buddy,
obviously im not very knowledgeable regarding hybrids etc, but i know someone with a hybrid LCR that has been revo'd and its getting virtually same power levels, same drivability as stage 2...i was led to believe as you say, an extra 30 bhp can be achieved...

i will be running custom code so will i be looking at the g/sec that you are saying?....also i have a BMC filter at the moment does that need replacing for a green open cone?.....

i trust custom code will do a nice phase 2 map for it..

Brett, the BMC CDA looks the part but does seem to be out done by just about any other induction set up.
I'm just away to buy a green cotton dual cone. These and Jetex cones seem to be the way forward.

I'd go hybrid route if I was you, Carl (Fake Willy;)) is the man to keep you right.
