loose Air filter

noticed a clunking occurring around in the engine bay recently

upon investigation tonight the air filter is hanging freely, causing stress on the TIP (all be it the filter is quite light), but still this is a concern

unfortunately the bolt holes on the MAF snapped off long ago (which used to connect to the standard airbox to keep it in place)

so I was thining of a strap, similar to what is used to hold the dynatwist kit in place, but obviously I only need the strap part

any ideas anyone?

or failing that, anyone got an old airbox LCR airbox they want to sell me to try in place

Thanks

thanks (again :D )

I can see a metal type bar joined to the original bolt hole where the standard air box joined too, but how does that metal bar translate to the TIP? as in wrapping around it and securing it?

On mine there is a bracket that bolts to the filter then slots in the joiner to the TIP.....I used one of these bolt holes.

If you don't have anything like that you could still use the bracket but simply cable tie it to the TIP?

Sounds like a bodge but the extra bit of flexability will prob mean itrs better than my fixed bracket.

The bracket is just a repair bracket....there about £1 from B+Q
