Which brake setup to get.??

Right i think its new brake time now my standard setup on the front are squeeking like mad all the time and the discs have a reasonable lip on them.

So opinions please on which set up...Im going to be getting ds2500 pads anyhow.

But for the discs im not sure if to get the brembo's from bill or just standard ones again.

Reason being is i dont rag my car everywhere i dont do track days and ive not really had any problem with the standard setup on there at the moment for stopping power etc. So i dont want to get them and it just be a waste really as i would never really use them to there full.

And dont just all say brembos like i no you want to trying to make me spend my money

what about ebc discs got them on mine with ko3s with no probs

Brembos aren't as expensive as you think compared to other discs... Just get them plain though if your not going to be heating them up excessively...

Hadnt thought about getting non groved ones..

may have to send bill a message and find out if he can get them and whats on offer...

gsf do them thats where i got mine brembo ones not drilled or grooved just standard but good quality 50 quid for the pair of front disc ..

Think Bill does brembo eliptically grooved ones for not a bad price, got them on mine and they work very well

Dont spose you have a part number for that do you mate...Just had a quick look on there site but cant use it properly because im on my works computer.

They were the ones that i was thiking about getting

How do you find them on the road.?

I thought they might be a bit to full on for just normal road driving.

ive gone for black diamond combi drilled and grooved discs and ive got some wilwood 4-pots dynalites, but havent fitted them yet, will be doing this week, ill let you know how they feel

Just the discs mate. as the calipers wont fit with the standard wheels.

If you run the HiSpec R114-4 (4 pot) calipers these fit behind standard Cupra wheels and allow a 310x28mm disc, like I have done

My set-up is Wilwood Midilite 4-pots with standard discs and Mintex M1144 pads. Pretty good over standard but I tink the discs are letting me down at the moment. Plus I'd much prefer to have DS2500 but they don't make them for my caliper yet...

I had to run 6mm spacers (5mm too small) but then I have Mk2 GTi wheels.

Nope no spacers needed - I had ~3mm clearance.

I'm currently running 5mm spacers on the front (which I don't think are fitted in the above pics) for better stance but may take them off if I get any feedback through the steering wheel as they're too thin to be hubcentric. Also using Ferodo DS2500s
