This news leaves me with some serious thinking to do, currently got an Ibiza Cupra on order. It was a real nightmare to persuade myself to leave my trusty oil burner Ibiza Fr Mk4 for a petrol, now I have a choice I don't know what to do. My Ibiza is due to be built in buld week 3, ahhhhhhhhh why do Seat have to do this to me lol [:@]

I'm thinking a remapped 2.0 CR Diesel will do the little 1.4 TSI in any situation other than a standing start race. But then I was gonna have my Cupra remapped anyway

I do think the 1.4tsi would still be a better drive. It would put its power down in corners better than a big 2ltr tdi...

FR 2.0 TDI price?

Well if you compare the price of the 1.4 TSI DSG and the 2.0 TDI in Switzerland where the prices are available and you apply the same relative difference to the UK price, it would cost £15,185.00 for a 2.0TDI.

This doesn't compare well to VW prices in the UK where a Golf 1.4TSI DSG is £700 more than a manual 2.0 tdi.
Golf GT TSI 5 door 1.4 ltr 7 speed auto DSG 160 £21,195.00
Golf GT TDI 5 door 2.0 ltr 6 speed manual 140 £20,460.00

Whatever i think i need one.

UK prices??

Well i don't now where they got the 700 euro difference from? as i make it 500 euro less!

If that was translated to UK prices it would make a 2.0tdi FR about £14640, whileyou could say it is a little on the high side compared to a 1.4tsi DSG paddle gearbox car.

Or should we say it's not quite as much of a bargain as the petrol DSG, but probably a the car you would want and for less money.

Well since the remapped cupra will make in the region of 210-220 and the remapped 170 if it comes out does around 190-200 I still think the 1.4TSi would be better for the drive and noise and they're not too bad an fuel.

Not to mention the better handling!!
