A couple of bulb questions

Today I noticed that one of my front fog light bulbs has blown, so I was wondering:
1. What type of bulb are they? (55 plate, pre-facelift Mk4 Ibiza)
2. Any recommended bulbs?

Also, one of my number plate bulbs seems to be dimmer then the other (drivers side). When I had the LED bulbs in I noticed it was flickering, so replaced them with the standard bulbs. Any ideas?

go on autobulbsdirect.co.uk. their awesome for bulbs and you can type in the make of your car and model including year. it gives u every single bulb size for the car. including normal bulbs, good driving ones and xenons by the way fogs are h7s and number plate i think is 272 but dont hold me to that one

Yeah, I have used them before, just wanted peoples recommendations really!

Thanks. Autobulbs site says H1 for fogs... Trust you lot more though!

My number plate light issue isn't with the bulb... must be wiring or something!

They also say H1 for main beam, Wrong! H3 also.

It does sound like wiring on your number plate light if you have had two bulbs acting up.
Maybe a loose connection in the bulb holder?

The bulb is just a bit dimmer, like half the brightness... thought it might be an earth issue or some sort of wiring problem.

The bulb probably won`t have long before it blows if left like this, so you could try taking the block out to wiggle the connections on the bulb holder. You may find one is not making proper contact.

Yeh I do not trust the sites take the bulb out to check every time or check the car manual, granted you could send it back telling them they are wrong but rather get it right first time.
