P.D.C failure causes me to have a bump

When i go to reverse the car it automatically turns down the radio so i can hear the P.D.C but on this occasion it didnt bleep when i was near something although it did turn the radio down. This caused me to bump into our caravan :( the damage happened on the right hand side of the car on the corner which just ledt me with chipped off paint and also near the rear wheel however the caravan has a big dent but its hardly noticeable.

Dad has now done all the touch and is looking better

went out later on and a old man driving a toyota prius was in the wrong lane and nearly hit my car but luckily i avoided it after swerving away from him and then decided to take the mick and do 15 mph in a 30 zone

Obviously not trying to be rude or pedantic here, but.......its a parking "aid"? Theres really no excuse for the bump! I park my car between a two walls and back up to a caravan, checking all mirrors and going slow.....simples!

The trick is to not rely on things, especially technology to do your job. i.e just because we have ABS we dont all bomb around at 90mph in the wet/snow?

Im sure you've learnt your lesson tho!!

This is what happens when people rely on "driving aids" :cartman:

everyone will do sometime in the driving life though wont they

we all usually have a 'moment' at some point wether we get away with it or not depends on luck usually, and very slippy grass off track helps too mind :cartman:

still what doesn't kill us will only makes us stronger i guess [B)]

I do worry about the the amount of people who rely on these things to do a job so fundamental. (Not trying to offend anyone here). Ive heard of people taking their car back in to the dealer after they reversed into a post or something, and tried to claim as the parking sensor didnt stop them... That is very worrying. Very very worrying.
Also the amount of people who cant read maps is worrying too..

haha agreed.

I, for one, can't wait until the GPS satellites stop working and all the monkeys who rely on sat nav to get to the shops and back are crippled and unable to go anywhere.
Fair enough, sat nav's handy in a strange city, but on major roads? eesh, learn to read a road sign.

I've never understoofd the need for parking sensors either? isn't that why they put mirrors on the car and god gave you eyes? whatever happened to the good old days where you slowly learned how big your car really was through experience?
