Back from the dead
If companies are willing to listen and participate on a forum like this then thats fantastic news for everyone.

That's why we like small bespoke companies who can react, and unlike corporations just stick their fingers in their ears and pretend they can't hear the customer. Well done to INA for taking proactive steps.

Beautiful car, and my favourite Mk1 Leon on this forum. I love it. A brilliant job well done. Even the hose clamps are exquisite. No expense spared.

SUCCESS ... she's alive again!!!

After getting some more G12+ coolant from my local VW dealership this morning, I came back, topped it up, filled the engine with oil, cranked it over for 30 seconds with the coilpacks and injectors unplugged to get all the fluids round the engine. Plugged eveything back in, cleared the fault codes and BAM ... fired up first time! Once I've done a throttle body alignment and checked the fluid levels again, I'll go out for a drive. :D

Brilliant, been a bit longer than you thought but job done anyway.
Did you fill up with mineral oil first?
Will you run this for 1,000 miles then change to synthetic oil?
How do you plan to bed in the piston rings?

Sounds great yes. No problems, runs great, I checked around for any leaks and found nothing. Piston rings will be run in using some firm accelerating and de-celerating using engine braking.

Yes, using Castrol GTX mineral oil for the first 1k miles, got to change the oil after around 20 miles, then 500 then change to synthetic at 1k miles. Then I can turn the boost back up and have some fun!

Looking and sounding great! your engine bay looks sweet! Good luck, hope it runs well.

Will you be increasing the boost from before or is it just prep for BT?

Thats how i ran mine in and i got ~190psi across all 4 cylinders. :D

Why do you have to do this?

To bed in new piston rings and freshly honed bores. Mineral oil is required because you want a bit of friction, synthetic oil is too slippery. Because there will be some friction while the rings and bores bed in, you have to change the oil to get rid of any metal fragments from the friction. After 1k miles you can switch to synthetic oil and run the car as normal.

Brilliant, Rob, really brilliant. You should start your own business, although I doubt you would make any profit :D

It might be worth relisting your current position, I'm sure I'm not the only one that's forgotten where you are up to now!

Is the DV actually atached to anything or just infront of the airfilter lol, jus looks like the hose is plonked there, you got a magnetic drain plug? will help collect any bits in the oil.

Yep, the hose goes down to the intercooler pipe. I did it that way so the charge air going into the DV is dry, I had it after the water injection nozzle and the innards of the DV got very wet causing it to stick.

Yes, got a magnetic drain plug.
