anyone know of a way to improve the grip after a remap,know its the extra torque causing this,better tyres?:think:also will i be getting even more torque once i have my new turbo back system fitted?

Try learning to launch a motorbike with power-to-weight ratios that embarrass an F1 car (0-60 in 2.1 seconds!). You'll soon get to grips with it :D My bike did 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, and that teaches you a thing or two

What is it with people who cant set off in damp weather, you got a lead foot or somthing? As said try riding a motorbike ... in the wet with about 600bhp/tonne at your right hand, its not the machine its the operator, and if your loosing traction in the wet it means your giving it a bootfull and thats rather dangerous in the wet, ive had a clio 182, and this and hardly ever spun the tyres come rain or shine.

Dogbone mount, good tyres and feed the power in gently, you can still get a could start this way, it doesn't have to be hell for leather. After a remap though the increased torque does make it alot easier to spin the wheel, especially in the wet, i used to be able to spin mine in 4th gear when i had the OEM LCR alloys fitted.

I had a thread about it some time ago and all i got from people was BS answers blaming driving still and saying that i could not drive etc... BS, got 0 suggestions from people.

The best improvement i have done to the handling(apart from ARB's) of my car for the wet was fitting wider wheels 8.5 with 235/35/19 BF Goodrich profiler tyre, the car has totally transformed itself in the wet, cornering and put the power down.

Why would you want much power down in the wet anyway? Unless you spend big bucks or buy a 4wd you will never eliminate spin in the wet, you can reduce it, but that calls for a LSD, also for grip in the wet on corners, arbs, lowering, tyres.

Cause it rains here most of the year, :D and its nice to know if i need to get the power down i can. Also as you say you will always get wheel spin the wet, agreed, but i found with the wider tyres it eliminated a huge amount of this and just gave more grip all round.

I had a few traction problems with my TVR, it used to love spinning up in 4th on slightly damp roads! It did weigh 1000kg and have 380ft/lbs of torque at the wheels though. The old girl really taught me how to control a car whatever the weather, it's really all about your right foot and feeding the power in. It is mega fun sliding around though!

I guess it's like the old stories of the Shelby Cobra killing people because it had so much power in such a small, light car and people couldn't handle it. I don't know that I'd dare drive one. Certainly not now anyway

I would like to own one! The TVR used to scare me sometimes and would give a few bikes a shock (not the new 1000's though!) I find the Cupra is just about enough for our roads these days, but you can spin the fronts if you stamp on it in 1st and maybe 2nd if you fancy being a bit lairy!

The problem I find with the LCR is that after riding 1000s, it just doesn't feel fast. That's not to say that I don't love it still, but I loved that adrenaline from the bike, and the real sensation of speed. 120 up the motorway in the car doesn't feel fast.

yeah i know what you mean.
i had a GSXR could hit 120 without thinking about it. and that was only a 600

no true. i love my cupra. but come the summer the bikes coming back.
the only cars that can compete would cost you well over 100k. and they still get stuck in traffic

I know what you mean, my TVR was capable of silly speeds with very little effort, i would overtake a line of 3 or more cars and think nothing of it until i glanced at the speedo. I find you have to think about getting silly speeds from my standard cupra and really push it hard. I miss having a 4 second to 60 car but the way our roads are with congestion and speed cameras i'm glad i've got the cupra, and it's plenty fast enough...........for now
