As title says please help, I fitted a PD150 TD stage2 turbo, last week and have been driving quietly to let it settle in, so last nite i decided to give it a run up the dual carrage way to make sure it was ok. All went fine, untill i got about 2miles from home and the turbo started sqeeling, its sounds much like a fan belt sqeeling. so very slowly drove the rest of the way home expecting the worst!

Got car up onto the ramps the nite and pulled intake pipe off turbo and checked impeller, theres no lift or movment and no marks around the impeller. Took pressure side off to check for metal filings and theres non .

If i rev car up very slowly then its does not make the noise but give it some throttle and it squeels. ran car with vacum hose off the actuator and theres no squeeling noise.

My car is a seat ibiza fr with a claimed 170bhp remap.

Is my new turbo goosed or is it some thing else? Please help.

Was it mapped after the turbo was fitted? your supposed to have them mapped again once the new turbo is fitted to alter the boost, fuelling and timing etc. Check all the pipe work, a high pitched squeel sounds like a very small air leak could be present.

Car hasent been mapped since the new turbo has bin fitted, could this be a map issue, ie turbo over boosting? forgot to mention that noise is still present when the pressure pipe is off the turbo!

Would deffinately say its a mpping issue. Due to the difference in size of internals, the turbo doesnt spool up at the same RPM as the standard unit.

You need to get it mapped, as boost and fueling, along with various other parameters, will be out of sync.

Think this could be down to the map, as had it running at 2000rpm with noise there and just eased the actuator up by hand and noise went off!

i would definately say it is anything but a mapping issue!

Ok. I was mistaken with what i said earlier. The thing that was causing the screeching on his car was the EGR gasket vibrating when you press the throttle. He said it sounded like a horrible screech. Just needed to refit the gasket and tighten it all back up.

Hmm, well i checked everything like that twice just to be sure, so i really am hoping that TD finds summit wrong with it. Or its back to the drawing bord!

you get any news back on the turbo?

Not yet checked the tracking on it and its not reached TD yet! :( Hopefully they will get it in the morning, and i should have an anwer by the end of the week!
