Leon 150tdi - Standard Revo remap

I know this question has most probably been asked a 1000 times, but I have read numerous threads and found contradicting information. I have an 05 plate Leon 150tdi with 28k on the clock and looking to add a standard 190bhp, 290ftlbs revo remap. I don't drive like I'm on a qualifying lap, just want a bit more grunt when needed. Is there anything that can let go (Weakness) from this mod that I should look out for. As don't want to spoil a totally cracking car for the sake of 40bhp.

Thanks in advance

John

Ps have the car booked in to Seat Braintree to be done in a few weeks, but just dotting the 'i's' and crossing the 'T'

Thanks for that heads up and I guess when the clutch does eventually let go it's best to put an uprated one in.

What I was more worried about was the turbo, as I have read posts that anything over 185bhp is not good and the standard turbo can let go and take out the engine with it. Revo Quote 190bhp for a standard remap, is that remap designed around looking after the standard turbo, or after getting it done do I have a time bomb on my hands, that could go bang 10k down the road and take out my engine.

cheers

Revo spend alot of time researching this sort of thing, if the map was going to cause problems down the line they would alter it or stop using it. Its rare that the turbo will destroy the engine if it goes. Its more likely that low oil pressure will wreck the turbo from a none properly serviced engine.

The map your on about is fantastic and will transform the car, i'm running it at about 200bhp and have no problems..

Cheers for that MJ, just wanted to check before I get the re-map done. Have to say 190bhp will be great, as a long time ago I used to have a Rover 620ti running at 240bhp and I do miss the acceleration it had. What mods have you done to yours to reach the 200bhp mark?

Think he can now, get a ATB diff and you really do give people a run for there money, but then a clutch is advised at that stage, standing starts are the worst things for a standard clutch on a remap, the higher torque cause slip quickly if too aggressive on pull off...

So your saying give 1st a miss and do smooth, progressive roll-ons in second and save full banana's for 3rd upwards, to look after a standard clutch with remap. Have to say some of the work you guys put into your cars on here is Impressive and I'm looking forward to see how this remap feels, the torque is the most Impressive thing about the whole deal.

It'll be on the wanted list somewhere, its pretty good off the line when it stops wheel spinning and the traction control stops panicing but by then i'm normally in 3rd doing about 60 (and the entire street behind me is engulfed in smoke :D)

i used revo before going hybrid, and it was fine. only issue was the clutch, however it was slipping pre map.

what i would say is that id be supprised if you get the 190bhp 290lbft claimed. realisitcly is more in the 180 s and 260 ish

mine on a realistic dyno put 182bhp and 255lbft with just a revo.

i wouldnt be too concerned with power outputs. its the torque which is more important.

Thanks for that John. Well that's good, as I'm not hell bent on power, as plan on keeping the car for a while and do not want to compormise it's reliability (been there got the t-shirt). Just want to give the car a little more fizz, and make it a pleasure to drive. As you say the torque is where it's at with diesels and a genuine 255ftlbs sounds pretty sweet.

Thanks for that MJ I will have a look at those cars and the 400bhp Audi sounds mad, will be interesting if he meets any Ferreri 430's on his travels :), I met one on the GSXR and they are beeping quick :-o
