Hi after a couple of hundred miles of lovely DPF delete driving my engine management light has come on.
An indy garage has told me its the exhaust pressure sensor, which I know go often...

2 questions

1. Anyone think that this is BECAUSE of the DPF delete?
2. Is it necessary to change it if i dont have a DPF. The car is in warrenty but obviously the stealer will laugh in my face after DPF delete :)

I know its a fairly cheap fix but am i just having it done to turn the light off?

Sorry thats 3 questions......

I always assumed the exhaust pressure sensor was to look for a pressure increase in the pipework upstream of the DPF - in other words to sense if its starting to get blocked.

If that is the case, then I'd have expected it to be un-programmed as part of the de-DPF process.

Im not 100% though - hopefully someone else will confirm its function.

What do AMD say?

AMD are not saying much to tell the truth. they said its a common problem, which i know it is, but seems a bit strange it went just after my visit to them!

The light did come on as soon as the delete was done but they took the car back and updated the Seat software before putting the map back on and all seemed good!

MMMmmm this could put a lot of people off. The single biggest reason for getting this done is to get rid of DPF/SENSOR issues (then the power). If AMD show a reluctance to do anything about it, I would say people are gonna steer clear of taking it to them

I was seriously considering getting this done when the warranty is up, to help with any future dpf issues. May have a rethink now

In early testing of maps this was a common problem with DPF delete. After map was put on and a good spirited drive the light would show. I have done 500 or so miles if not more in testing, with this light on. No power loss of problem with car. It just doesnt look nice. Its definitly a tuning issue. Every car is different, and this map needs some tweaking to resolve this.

But for now dont worry, drive it like you stole it. But get AMD to sort map. When map is reset you will find light and error will go, the sensor will be fine.

It may not be the sensor but a wiring issue...

I had a new sensor fitted a few weeks back & the light came on again this weekend, plugged it in & it read the same, plus shortage of power getting through ????

The code has been wiped clear & next time it comes on, its straight to the dealer to be sorted , only 8k left til it gets expensive
