I've done a search but cant find any info on them, i ws just wondering who has them and where they got them from? I was thinking of making me own but think i'll have difficulty getting the rear quarters and rear window to seat properly as there formed.

Cheers Mark :D

plastics 4 performance do a good kit front windows / rear quarters and formed rear screen

http://www.plastics4performance.com...e-windows/IBIZA-MK2-FACELIFT/c-1-288-477-480/

ye have you seen the price of them though, nearly 500 with sliders.

Is there anywhere that does fibreglass panels though? I know the boot weights loads but i was just going to chop it up like the doors have been. The car was put on the weigh bridge a few years back and weighed 900kg or so i have been told. not sure if thats realistic or not?

20vt = 1119kg standard according to parkers

a for windows. in the old days we used to get perspex sheets off the local market and hot air gun em over the original glass then trim em down

very time consuming and fiddly as you need a steady heat and hand but doable and any rough edges were easy hidden as they were all fixed with slider openings glued/bolted in

usually so cloudy/scratched they had to be replaced after 18mnths or so though

Doubt it. They weigh about 1400-1500kg I think.

Wheres the weight been shed?

The lad that had the cr a fe years back took the weight saving a bit to far and went as far as cutting the loom to bits, the inners of the doors have been totally removed, had no dash, basically it had 2 seats a steering wheel and the clocks inside.

I'll get some pics of it when i get home but there are some pics in the readers rides section from when dicko boght it from si :D

Near JabbaSport ;)
Having perspex windows had crossed my mind too, there are companies that make them for track cars etc so sure they could make em for an ibiza, would be pretty pricey tho, and easier to break into. Can you change the front windscreen or is it a structal part (like if you replaced it with plastic would the body move and flex more then normal?)

technically speaking as modern ones are bonded yes it's removal would have an effect on the upper body but to what degree i wouldn't know

more to the point knowing how long they last before clouding and safety it would be unuseable on the road i wouldn't want one as a screen

i would say it's probably not road legal anyway as they will simply reject it as a temporary screen

Question is will this be a road car or purely a track car,

Make a little section a slider on the drivers window in the middle so you can breath, just pop rivet the perspex on, job done.

Mainly track, but it will be used in the summer as a toy and to go to shows etc
