Ipod direct into stereo

Hi guys... i have a question. I've searched some of the forums for an answer but no joy so apologies if this is one of those ever repeating topics... I'm looking into getting a quality stereo for my new pride and joy (Black magic 53 plate Leon Cupra) but I've never found the ipod adapters or holders that plug into the 12V power-plug very good. Does anyone know of a stereo that your i pod actually slides into directly rather than connecting with wires...? Might be a straight forward "No nothing invented yet" but i thought I'd ask.

as in has a mount?none do so and none plug into your cig lighter if an aftermarket radio.you can buy a brodit vehicle dash mount then buy an ipod specific dash, put together then you can plug the lead straight into the bottom but its pretty pointless if all track functions etc are through the radio.

I currently have a Belkin Ipod holder that plugs into the Cig lighter and tunes into an unused radeo frequancy but when you drive into a new area it often gets interferrence from local radeo stations, so i was looking for a different option. Not that keen on having wires coming from the stereo into the ipod and i'm sure i've seen somewhere but i don't know where a system where you insert your ipod into the actual stereo unit like an old fasioned cassette and it plays that way... maybe i'm mistaken, An Audi TT rings a bell but maybe it was just a concept that hasn't been developed yet.
