For the price - I can't fault the cupra front wishbone bushes - 55k on mine now and still seem good. (My first 130 TDi bushes only did 20K and should have been changed before that)
I went with a mix of powerflex front and cupra rear bushes on my front wishbones.

I've heard that poly bushes are great for track day, buy as a daily driver, you'll be sacrificing yet more ride quality.

I think Deano's got the right idea, and be selective about the bushes you change, rather than going ALL poly.

I've been considering changing the front ARB bushes and dog-bone bush for poly, maybe steering rack bushes and possibly the front suspension arm bushes. The rears (console) will definitely stay Cupra standard as they seem good (I had these in my 130PD Sport too).

cheers guys for your opinions, have diecide to got mixed like you have said,

When you do decide to change them - buy yourself a tub of propper RUBBER grease to smear on the various bushes.

It's red in colour and waterproof so it doesn't wash out as fast. I did every bush I could find whilst the car was in bits for the wishbone bushes.

Never had another squeek out of the bushes since.

Re: using red rubber grease when fitting bushes, is there no risk that the bush will rotate/move out of alignment after fitting? I think my mechanic used washer fluid or something, as it helped to lube the bush during fitting but then dried out so the bush wouldn't move.

I use the rubber grease inside the bushes - not to fit them.
EG - Inside the ARB bushes where they rub on the ARB in normal use.

Washing up liquid is a favorite but contains SALT - when it dries out it makes a really good grinding paste and as soon as it gets wet again - it aids corrosion of surrounding metal.

Many other greases attack rubber and degrade it quicker.

Not washing up liquid, windscreen washer fluid - i dont think that contains salt?

i know the stuff you a talking about,

by the way it is not cheap to get them replaced about an hour each side. The garage put grease in mine last year to stop them squeaking so I could keep them on for another year, it worked up until a month ago.

ut should only really cost me the price of the bushes and grease,as i can take it into college and do it the and get it 4wheel alignment done there at the same time

Take note of the orientation of the old bushes before you remove them - the middle of the bushes has a hexagon in it to match the wishbone.

Make sure the new bushes go in with the hexagon in the same orientation as the ones that came out.
