After picking my Cupra up today, one of the first things I want to do is get Iphone connectivity (I use as iPod in the car). After a quick search I came across this unit which is currently at what seems to be a great price as it includes the iPod adaptor as well. It also includes full BT function with built-in mic.

The unit is Sony MEX-BT2600 + XA-110IP for £109.99

I did a bit of reading on these forums before searching and whilst the Alpine units get plenty of praise, I'm not taken by the looks of them and really want something a lot more understated.

Has anyone got any comments or have any experience of this unit?

:)

the sonys look like a christmas tree compared to 90% of other makes!!

the sony units are awful at motorway cruising speeds for sound quality if your car suffers from background noise.

if you must get a sony get either the 3700 or 4700 (both have external mic option)

I decided against a new HU and today had a Parrot MKI9200 installed and I'm very happy with it. The service was top notch (from ebay sellers 'Handsfreecar'). It costs £209.99 inclusive and was done in around an hour or so, the job was very tidy indeed.
I'm very pleased with the Parrot and can highly recommend it if someone wants handsfree and iPod/iPhone connection :)

..and the problem is back.
It was fine this morning but when I got in it after work it had the same issue again. I tried again when I got home and still nothing so I plugged in a USB stick with some music on and it was fine.
What I did notice was that when it stops working it's no longer locking the iPhone as an accessory (if you know what I mean) I can navigate through iPhone as normal which you cant do when the Parrot is working properly. If I navigate through the iPhone for a bit then use the controller for Parrot, the iPhone logo is replaced with an iPod logo and a message shows on iPhone saying 'This accessory is not designed for the iPhone' or something similar.

boo..pretty gutted cos it was the perfect solution for me :(

the issue is that Apple udate the i-phones on a daily basis and parrot do thiers when they need to....

if you go to the parrot web site you can down load the latest software on to a memory stick and then up date your parrot kit...

i always keep the latest software on a stick to update the kits that i fit..

hope this helps
