Uprated brakes and KW V1 Coilovers

Well after saving my pennies I have finally uprated my brakes and suspension. Had the KW V1 coilovers but decided on only a 25mm drop as not sure how this would effect getting onto my drive. Luckily its about right as the clearance must be 2mm ! The car bounces a little more but not overly so. The difference is in the cornering ! It is soooo much flatter with minimal roll. Much more direct and you can get the power down earlier. It also resists the front dipping under braking and rising under hard acceleration. It will settle over the coming weeks but I am very pleased with it.

I decided on Tarox F2000 curved and grooved discs all round and stratos pads. Unfortunately after fitting the fronts when the rear discs box was opened they were different Tarox discs. So only the fronts have been fitted at moment and the rears in a few weeks. Too early to comment on any difference as want to run them in but I am really pleased with the way they look. Will post some pics at weekend in the daylight.

All done at Awesome Gti Manchester. Not cheap and bear in mind I have yet to pay for the rears and brake fluid change to 5.1 Total so far was £1565 for these mods.

What has surprised me is the weight of the front discs. I asked for them back and almost dropped them. They are VERY heavy. Will have to weigh them unless anyone knows what they weigh. Talk about reducing unsprung mass !

Any way overall I am very pleased although some will say its a waste of money but as I intend to keep the car for many years I might as well get it the way I like. Will post a new thread once my rear discs and pads are done.

I've but the same suspension set-up but also got eibach anti-roll bars. The difference between the new setup and standard is as you say night and day. I went for a brembo brake setup at the front as I wanted something that will resist fade better after very spirited driving. Good to see your enjoying your new setup tho :)

I had the Eibach Pro Street S coilovers on mine, which are basically KW V1's by another name. They were very good, but only lasted 14 months before the dampers started leaking:cry:
I'm now on Bilstein B16' PSS10's and couldn't be happier (lifetime guarantee FTW). I do treat my car harder than most, so you should be okay.

TAROX FTW too. You'll love them.[B)]
