FR has cupra r bumpers, cupra r style 17" alloys, teardrop mirrors, L E O N tailgate badge and FR wing badges. Think thats it.

FR has different seats, wheels, silver mirrors and FR badges on front wings.
FR+ has Cupra R bumpers, Cupra R style 17" wheels and red FR badges on the wings.

Cupra TDI - Ran from 2003-2004
FR TDI - Ran from mid 2004 - 2005

Both came with the same engine - 150BHP PD TDI engine - ARL code, as fitted to the golf GT TDI and Toledo sport 150.

They both origionally came with the same body kit but towards the end of the leon 1M chassis life seat bunged on the cupra R kit (on MY 2005 models) and changed the 10-spoke scattered inverted rims to those more similiar to the cupra R (but as 17" not 18").

They both have the tear-drop style mirrors (only the TDI varient, the earlier versions were all fitted with the 20vt lump and ran from 2002 onward and some, up intill 2004 had the old style mirrors)/

The cupra has Black seat centres where as the FR had silver ones.

One was badged as the cupra - the other the FR.

The FR was basiclly the re-branded cupra version with a few more modernistic perks (all cosmetic)

I can see a difference between the early Cupra and FR front bumper before they put on the Cupra R one but the rear bumpers look the same on both early and later ones......are there any differences ?

does the FR shame the same the springs/shocks as the LCR then? or will those be the same as the cupra?
I'm asking cos someone is selling FR TDI springs that i'd like to use on a 1.8T LC, think it'll work?

I would say not, tho will stand corrected.
The tdi's have a heavier engine and would therefore require a stiffer spring on the front.
If you check out the sites advertising spring kits they will list a different kit for each.

Weren't Cupra TDis also fitted with a 312mm brake setup, where as the later FRs got the 288mm setup?

And does each variant come with electric folding mirrors, or was that another change?
