As above I fitted a new engine its a 1.9tdi 110bp, with a different engine code but practically identical, i changed the fuel pump so it used the original one, now it will not start it cranks over but does not start i loostened the flue lines to injectors for fule but nothing is coming through.

i also checked the fule pump when putting the ignition on i can hear slight clicking noises in the fuel pump, is this normal? and hear like a humming sound, kind of like a speaker on full volume when not playing any thing,

lastly i put vag com on it (cheapy one from ebay) it says 1 fault found instrument cluster memory needs resttting, wht ever that means,

can anyone help

thanks in advance

cluster memory is where the immob code etc is stored so sounds like it need the immob programmed and sorted

did you try running on the old pump from the beginning or swap it over once it wouldnt run ?

swapped it before we put the engine in i was tolf the ecu would not recogise a foreign pump, and how do you get the immob reprogrammed

New ECU of the one from the old engine? The ECU and the instument cluster, where the immobiliser unit is, have to be paired.

i hav not changed the ecu or imobilisers, strictly just the engines i was under the impression changing the engine and keeping the original pump was enough
