Hi Guys

Im looking at buying some new alloys soonish for the cupra but not sure what size to get, it has 17" on it now so dont know weather to stay with 17" or go down to 16" as i heard 16" are beter for acceleration - is this true?? and i heard a larger wheel like 18" will slow it down on acceleration and also put more strain on the gearbox.

Whats your view guys??

Thankuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Ant:D

I know for optimal handling 16' are probably the best, had mine on 16's and now have 17's and it doesnt handle aswell as it did on 16's thats for sure.

haya mate thanks yh i think i may go 16" - quick question for ya, does the g60/vr6 clutch make a lot of differnce, is it better than a uprated helix clutch??? also mate were do i get a ko3s from?? oh and last thing lol what a TIP?? saw it on your signiture and didnt understand

thanks matey

G60/VR6 setup can take more torque than the standard clutch and the flywheel is single mass - much lighter (21.6 lbs). Not as good as a Helix kit - hence the huuuuge difference in price...

TIP - turbo intake pipe

As for the rest, start searching before someone else tells you to do the same :) These are all very common topics

As Robbie says Ant, gotta search bud, looooads of threads on these topics. KO3s can be bough brand new or second hand(come up from time to time in the for sales section). TIP's again can be bought second hand and new from Forge or SFS

You're paying ~£1200 for a Cupra?!

yeah sorry mate i probly phrased it wrong, um yeah i got my cupra 3 weeks ago and on test drive it seemed fine (dont think the guy opened the taps up) anyway on the way home i tried but it coughed and spluttered so took it to amd and £444 later they replaced spark plugs as they had wrong type in, new induction kit, new air mass meter, new dv pipe, and few other bits then they closed and still wernt pulling how it should so left it there, its been 2 and half weeks and its done friday its costing me £1186!!! they have replaced the water pump, thermostate, window solnoid, window motor, window switch, brake switch, timing belt, fuel pump, door card and boot lining clips and more lol i asked them to look at bits and sort for me but mainly went in for lack of power which was due to fuel pump. So yeah £1186 to pay!!! TBH im not that upset about it as the cars mint no scratches, dents on the body inside is unmarked only on 45,000 miles and i paid £2400 so im still doing ok.........i think lol:cry:

Good job you only paid £2400 for it, otherwise that would have been a right lemon!

So basicly sounds like you now have a pretty sorted car for £3500, although if your half decent with a spanner and use the forum to its potential half of those jobs could of been done at home.
