Hello,

I tried to start my Seat Ibiza today and it just wont start.

The engine seems to be turning but it then just "coughs" and dies. I will get the AA to have a look at it.

Since it is under 3 years old, any idea what the 3 year warranty covers?

The 3 year warrenty covers prety much everything except brake discs/pads, clutch friction disc, exhaust and tyres. there is also a part of the warrenty that says that it doesn't cover any "adjustments" but this normally gets forgotten.

In your case you should deffo be covered.

It's not a 1.2 is it? If it is I hope it's not the timing chain that has jumped.........

thanks for the reply stezo2,

how many spark plugs does the ibiza have? woudl they all pack up at the same time, i thought if even one would be working, there would be at least a bit of a growl from the engine?

which is worse.

the coils going or the spark plugs going.

noob question, the coils are more easily accessible to the driver, correct? i think it was the coils which were going on my polo.

its 3 matey on the 1.2. yeah if youre not getting a bit of noise from the engine it may not be the sparkies

If the car is still under the warrantee, then I would lob it straight at a SEAT dealer.

If it it anything like failed coils or camchain, then it is definately not your problem.

I'd call you local dealer and give then an earful :)
