Guess who's coming back

Not sure many people will still be on here from when i last had a Mk4. But it looks like i'm coming back to the fold.

After 3 years with stupidly quick Mini's i need some economy in my life. Was looking for a Mk5 Golf GTi or Focus ST, but after driving my mums Polo Tdi over the weekend i think i need some DERv power.

Not gonna mess about this time, Going to go straight for a Cupra Tdi Ibiza, and REVo straight away.

Its going to be ideal for me as i have done 9 trips to the Ring this year so would appreciate something that can cruise down to the Ring with minimal fuel use, then competent enough to put in a quick 10 laps before coming home again. Oh and something thats comfortable. Will be great as intend on doing at least 10 visits next year plus Le mans and stuff. And not too fussed about performance on ring as i will have a track car that i'm leaving in Germany all year too, but i'm sure i'll have some visits when i just want to tear round in the Ibiza

i love my Ibiza, fantastic car and superb performance
add to that insurance group 8, 12 months car tax for £120 and on average 50mpg (60 commuting, 40 during "playtime"), its a lot of fun with being very economical!!

i've reluctantly been considering selling mine to get something a bit bigger for when our first child arrives, but I'd definitely be getting another deisel for sure!

id have happily brought another one if i could have got one new back in March but after shopping around at there brands as well as the current VAG line up and the interior does start to let it down. I keep thinking of looking for a Cupra TDI to gut and turn in to a track slag for some cheep track fun on RED DIESEL

I'm intrigued. Whats the Mini JCW like. Is it an unruly animal? Drove a Cooper S not long ago, and whilst it was a great drive it just wasn't properly quick. From your sig the BHP you have run is in a different hemisphere. I love the GP Works cars - is the JCW anything similar? (apologies - loads of questions).

Well when i left i had a supercharged Mini, That was quick as fook in the end and i spent a small forutne on it including a brand new engine after the Oil pump packed up one night on a slow night home, but that was chucking out 270-275 and was quick, but i got pissed off with it in the end and stripped it and sold it on and then bought the New new Shape JCW.

The JCW was fun, i kept it standard so mine was running 210bhp, Done a few trips to the ring and a couple of Track days. Was great around Bedford even with Run flat tyres. But then i bought a house and needed some cash out of the car, so i sold it ( mad is it sounds bought it in January for 15450 and sold it back to a different mini delaer with 5000 miles mores on it for 15350 6 months latter, that car cost me 100 quid)

Now back to an Ibiza for a while. Never had a problem with my old ones, always found the Tdi more fun than the 1.8T and the Tdi was also more reliable. Only plnas for the Ibiza will be exhaust, REVO, filter and a set of KW coilovers probably.

Mine was great fun on track, really held its head high!

Wish I had kept it really... in fact my dabble with the blue oval is coming to an end this weekend, after 5 short months Says it all really Sooty Ibiza 4.5 years, Focus RS 5 months .

This was my last trackday in sooty,

It was amazing.

In the end mine ran revo, Sachs clutch, forge strut brace, panel filter, DS2500 pads on EBC turbo grooved discs, rear spacers and rARB, ap coilovers, and straight through exhaust from the cat back. It was fun.

Man I miss it. 67k and 10 odd trackdays... never had a problem, with standard servicing too.

Loving that, looks great and with 275bhp must be an absolute rocket.

Best of luck finding something suitable. After those 3 cars you'll have to do some chassis work to make the Ibiza come up to scratch. The KW's will help, but you'll probably be wanting ARB's, braces etc...
