Found some pics of the 284s

Before Mk4 Golf Gti on 232's

After with version 1 284's

The version 2 discs get the excess swept area machined away and the inside of the bells and disc edges powder coated in Brembo grey, the swept area now is the same as the pad depth - a better result as it saves having hammerite the unswept area.

The 284's fit in front of the stock 256 FWD disc shield as youcan see looks very OEM

no the disc is 284 x 22 not the 288x25 VAG disc and you need some clever bracketry to make it work, the kit comprises 284mm discs and the fitting kit, you need calipers and carriers to bring it together, your existing pads transfer across but everybody tends to upgrade to suffix R32/S3/Cupra R /f pad (on the part number) at the same time

Sorry I meant 284.....how much would you say these clever brackets are and what is the 284x22 standard fit on? :D

Cant really get into it on here, the conversion kit is sub 300 quid plus a 4WD rear setup or at least 4WD carriers and 256 calipers and at that Im pushing the rules.....

PM me for more info, If theres a good interest I'll pony up some money for the mods and shout from the rooftops maybe a group buy.

I have the same front set up as Willie (Badger 2-piece 330x28) but also the ECS rear 2-piece 308x22 conversion with DS2500 pads all round.

I would definately echo what DaveB1970 has said with regards to stability. My car is now much more stable under braking after fitting the rear discs. Looks are greatly improved too.

I got the set-up at a reasonable price from the USA, otherwise I don't think I would have paid the price ECS are asking for the rotors and spacers.
