How do you get this Exhaust sound?

I got a Magnex cat back system and a Magnex down pipe and sports cat from a motorsport shop just off Jct 26 of the M1 and it's awesome and only paid £500 for the lot. It's very well exhaust place who fitted it said he had never seen one fit so perfectly.

The Jet sound you can hear is due to restriction in the backbox, sometimes because of a badly designed backbox or sometimes if you have smaller pipe section at the back, or small tailpipes. (only happens on turbo cars) My S2 used to make that noise, but then i had another stainless system made with less restriction and less mufflers. It doesn't sound as good but it goes much better and i can get the most out of higher boost.

sounds like my car after I removed the backbox with a straightpipe and tip. Now I have a 3"DP and it sounds ALOT better!!!!

another , may opt for a 2" back from DP custom made anyone know what gutting the back box will do?

sounds a lot like a Vortex exhaust to me ... burbles at low revs and then has a sucking vaccum like sounds at higher revs

go to youtube and type in Vortex Exhaust and check out the Audi TT

mine was £500 notes installed. not sure how much the vortex unit costs (mines acting as the back box). the £500 was from down pipe back (no cat)

it is pretty steep, but i'll be getting one on every car i have!!

If i make a custom down pipe back, at 2" to the backbox anyone any idea what if any performance losses would be or is it a case of geting it on the dyno before and after and seeing whats best?

you got to think as well its abroad and they probley dont hav laws like ours and they can have them as loud as they want quick i need to move to were he lives lol

Im thinking of a Y secion off the DP and 2.25 inch back to the rear muffler

theres a place in doncaster were you can design ur own exhaust note i had mine done its called custom pipes and it was all built buy hand from cat back

the std lc system is 2 1/4" so fitting 2" will kill it, if you think about it a performance zaust for a 1L mini uses a 2" bore

Thats why i said 2 /14 i jus want to see what its like, if not scrap it and get a new exhaust. simples
