What is it with Leon climate control?

The amount of times i've turned my heater fans on, hot or cold, and just clicked the fan up maybes 2 or 3 bars, then the next time i look down, it's blowing away on about 7 of the bars all by itself. I have it in maunual mode, not auto, but it still changes itself. does anyone esle's do this?

yup, mine likes to adjust the amount of air blowing on its own accord after i have manually adjusted it.

usually turns it down too much though. get used to it, i probably spend more time fiddling with the CC than the radio

Think the fan auto adjusts to best get the car to the correct temp in the shortest possible period- annoying, but I have got used to adjusting the temp, then immediately adjusting the fan by one notch. This resets the fan to manual and ensures the auto blow your arse off mode doesnt kick in.

"manual" is for the aim - ie which vents are open (screen/footwell etc) you start your engine, set the climate contorl to 25 degrees and open the screen vent on "manual" it'll show 1-2 bars. once the engine has warmed up and the coolant is warm the climate control picks up the fan speed to blow more warm air into the cabin to reach that 25 degree's you've asked it to reach ASAP

changing the fan speed again will over ride this function.

Climate control... it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Indeed, I really miss the 'Off' button my S3 had, a little irksome to have to hold down the '-' button all the way to off. Otherwise they have identical functions..

If you're car is fogging up without the aircon on then you have water in the car or in the pollen filter.

my compressor's broken and i had no problems with the windows misting up, and i was in norway last year

Not really, if you are sat in cold weather, especially if raining too and not moving much the moisture in your breath can soon start fogging up the windows, happens on every car I've ever owned.....

haha, yeah mine does the same, i have an 04 Cupra R. i like to think its being clever and sorting itself out, rather than it being a fault, if it gets annoyiong i just turn it back down or up, depending.

Yes they do, they just don't tell you about it. When its 4° or less outside you won't get any extra dewatering from the air cooling in any case.

Me too, i miss the off button from my 172. Only just got the car and was one of the 1st things i noticed!

prob low gas... there is a low pressure switch to shut the compressor off when gas is low. in cold weather the gas will be more dense, it'll prob work again when the engine warms up i bet.
