LCR 225 D/valve hose!!

Hi,
Been having a few issues with my lcr since the AmD rr day, been advised by quite a few people that the hose that runs from the metal charge pipe to the dump valve is really soft(really really soft), Just wondering if that would have an effect on boosting as the car is defo not running like it was, also does anyone know if there after market silicone replacements available, i've looked at the usual suppliers but cannot seem to find them..

that hose is mever a problem unless it has a hole in it. none of the tuning companys sell a silicon replacment.

If it has a hole in it then there will be oil around it but otherwise, it won't be causing you an issue.

Tell the guy what size of pipe he needs to order then...

They sell this hose in silicon for the normal LC, not sure about the LCR as I not sure what the difference is?

Its 25mm diameter if that helps but if its anything like the LC one its a funny shape?

On the LCR after coming out of the charge pipe it does bend sharply
Normal silicone hose would kink if ran on the same route, an elbow could be put in however
I opted for a DV relocation kit and also replaced the smaller pipe to N75 which is also prone to failure
This allowed me to remove both (as they are wrapped together)
Smaller pipe is 8mm by the way

This is where my pipe split

I replaced it with 1m of 8mm reinforced silicon tubing from Forge
Old pipe and off cut of the new pipe

New pipe fitted

When the pipe was split thee was a big increase in boost noise and DV noise, check all the way down the pipe it could be split lower down.

Well took the plunge, just ordered:


8mm silicone elbow and 1m hose,

25mm elbow and 1m of hose.

Hopefully this lot will help the situation, today ive just had new n75 valve and new maf fitted under warranty and the car is booked at AmD monday 10 am so hopefully all will be cured!!!!!

With the smaller pipe you dont need an elbow as this is flexible enough to run to N75, just the 25mm needing an elbow really
Try it and put some pics up to show how you got on
