Warranty Work

Morning All,

I've got the following issues with my '07 Cupra. What's the best way about getting the dealer to look at them?

Do I have to ring them and provide them the full list before just turning up? Reason I ask is that I've never had a car in for warranty before and this will be a 1st


1) O/S Creaking Door Mirror
2) O/S Door Mirror doesn’t heat-up
3) Sound-Proofing under bonnet is covered in mildew
4) O/S Headlight is misted up
5) O/S Front Window has the Wet-Window fault

Regarding item 4) will I have to remove any aftermarket blubs and replace with the OEM one's?

I also had a blowing exhaust which I replaced with a Milltek as I couldnt be chewed-on with the hassle.

Call up the dealer, list all the faults, and put OEM bulbs back in for number 4.

No, you can just turn up with a list.

Personally I would as otherwise it gives them wiggle room. Believe me, they don't need any.

Unrelated to these issues so they cant use it against you (he says with fingers crossed)!

Regarding the exhaust, SEATs own words to me were that by changing it, you would only invalidate the warranty on the exhaust. However if other faults developed and could be linked to or are down to an uprated part being fitted, it could consequetly cause issues for warranty on other parts of the car.

The parts you have listed have got absolutely no bearing on having a cat back exhaust, but the bulbs could well be classed as a mod. Swap them out before you go in as the fix on an Xenon is a replacement and they aint cheap if they are not under warranty.

I will give them a call and change over the non-oem blubs. I will need to arrange also arrange a courtesy car, will they provide one even though the car will be in for warranty work?

Depends on your age, their stock availability, and be prepared to pay a small fee as some garages put the excess at £1000 if you don't pay a small fee up front!

Dont let them fob you off about the underside bonnett cover going moldy , mine did that and had it changed , but they also need to change the clips which hold the plastic thats at the bottom of the windscreen for the ones with o rings attached , thats the fix
