Anyone else's Leon just letting them down? My 55 plate Tdi Sport is going through a rough patch

1. ABS Pump failed. £1000 fix. Thankfully Seat UK coughed up 80% so it *only* cost a couple of hundred quid.

2. A couple of days later glow plug and fuel line went, another 150 notes

Drove it off the forecort after fix number 2 and the second re-start later....

3. Throttle body fubar, £350 fix!!!!

And the Turbo has developed a very funny whistling sound that the stealer put down as a *feature* and they claim to "have several Leon's with the same noise".....

Really thinking of getting shot before it costs even more dosh, someone talk me out of it as I really like the car but if its going to be an unreliable heap of sh1t :censored:

Humm this makes me think the 3rd party warranty I just signed up for was a good idea...

How were you charged £350 to replace a part that was never on your car?

I understand your sentiment but I wasn't 100% sure if they (dealer) were pulling my plonker or you were picking on the newbie mechanical numpty fora laugh :D

Hasn't been in for the throttle body yet, Monday week for that. I'll tell them whatever bit they change as a "throttle body" to let me have it so I can find out what it is, well, what I mean is ask someone who knows about such things what it is

My 1.4 TSi has been in the dealers for nearly 5 weeks waiting on a new ECU!

My 55 plate TDI Sport is also making the major whistling sound which means the turbo is on its way out. Struggles to get over 3000 RPM and the other day it "pinged" a fault code at me and flashed up "emissions - see workshop" on the MFU. Fault Code Reader identified it as a "Boost Pressure Limit Reached".

Im sourcing a reconditioned turbo from Dave at Sere Motors (as soon as he gets back from vacation) but im starting to wonder if its better to get rid of the thing.

Its just done 58,000 miles so the Cam Belt is due for changing immediately which im sure will be another couple of hundred squid and im sure there are a few other problems with it that i cant remember.

*Edit* Oh and im sure the water pump will need changing pretty soon to as its about this time that they need changing.

Hmmm, now i sit here typing this, im wondering about popping into the stealers on the way home and see if they'll quote me a trade in price on a FR DSG!?

That's Ok then..

diesels don't have throttle bodies

The part is called an intake manifold flap control motor which does the same job basically as a throttle body, adjusts the amount of air allowed in to manifold, also shuts off air intake when engine is switched off so the engine stops smoothly.
