Booked my car in with Seat under warrenty as the clutch is slipping [:@], they said they will have the car for 3 days to do diagnoses and the clutch may be covered under warrenty, if its not they may make a good will gesture, if not it will cost between £600-£700... what’s peoples views of them actually doing it under warranty? Or should I just start saving now lol

If your sig is correct still I would say get saving as they will attribute the slipping problems to your increased power.

Unless, of course, you can get back to standard before it goes in?

Switched it back this morning, only via the revo switch.. would they still be able to tell?

I dont know about the Revo Map, but when you take out the bluefin on the Cupra, it definatley does not show up on the dealers computers (know from experience).

The only thing I would add is, if you plan on keeping your car in this state of tune or more later, it would be worthwhile maybe fitting an uprated clutch yourself if they wont cover it under warranty because you will have issues in a short space of time as well.

My clutch is going strong (TOUCH WOOD!) after 22k and about 7k of being Bluefinned Stage 1 and HARD driving but when it does go I will be saving up and fitting a SACHS organic clutch and heat treated pressure plate.

Let us know how you get on with the warranty claim :)

Yeah im just off 30k and been mapped since 21k.. only started slipping yesterday!

I was thinking about SACHS clutch if i can not get it done under warrenty.. otherwise it will only go again lol

Seat can not fit me in for over a week so will let you know how i get on once i have the verdict

Your car is mapped, so why are you pissed that its slipping? Its one of the drawbacks to modifying.

If your gonna go for more power your best off getting it uprated.

lol i know it would wear quicker being mapped, im not overly pissed just more of an inconviance thats why i put that icon on, nothing really meant by it!

Anyhows it back to standard map and does not slip now... still going to leave it booked in and see what happens i guess!

How did you convince SEAT it was slipping even though it was not slipping on a standard map or when you took it in?.
what did they find?
have they upgraded it to the sachs clutch that the S3's have been upgraded to?

I had same problem,i took the map of and put the car into dealers, they would not change the clutch...they also told me that unless there was total failure of the clutch seat would not pay out as another customer had just paid to get a new clutch for his in warranty altea due to slip......What dealer did you use ?

It went in for diagnoses and they said they could not get it to slip but it was crunching in resverse and first some times so they said they would replace it.. not sure if that was just luck that they did or not..

Not sure what clutch they put in, anyway i can tell other than rining and asking??
