Hi All,

Just recently picked up a 55 Plate Leon Sport TDI. Unlike you lucky people with the brand new ones, I don't have a USB port nor ipod connector, although the stock radio does play MP3 CDs.

I'm looking at my Options in terms of hooking my iPhone up, looking to achieve handsfree calling, possibly music streaming, and possibly Co-Pilot Sat Nav through the iPhone.

Given this, I've come across a couple of options:

Stop worrying about it, turn the phone off, use my Navigon Satnav and a CD loaded with MP3s

Get some kind of incar kit fitted, e.g:

IO Play (Halfords)
Parrot MKi9X00

Any other thoughts - there are a lot of options out here it would seem (including changing the CD player for the Satnav one!) but I must admit I'm struggling to work out what is applicable for my car's model year/revision.

Note that I don't have the complex instrument panel display, only the "simple" one.

Any thoughts welcome!

Thanks all,

One solution is to get a Bluetooth rear view mirror with FM transmitter.
You could then stream your music from your Iphone (3G with latest update required) using the bluetooth A2DP protocol, the mirror then transmits on an FM frequency to the car radio and the miiror also acts as a handsfree kit.

i have an iphone and just got a parrot mki9200 fitted and its an excellent bit of kit.

you have ipod connection, usb and also sd card slot on monitor which all show album artwork
.
i also have co-pilot on iphone and it streams perfectly via parrot through the speakers.

i had the same dilema as yourself and after doing loads of searching i opted for parrot, ipaid £219 fitted and well worth the money:D

Can you stream music over bluetooth from the iPhone? How well does it work?

Thanks

A mate of mine has just had a parrot mki9200 fitted complete with the new parrot UNIKA interface that allows the use of the steering wheel controls. He had a fitter come to his hous and it cost £345 all in. This includes £100 he had to pay on top for the UNIKA interface. It does allow streaming from the Iphone 3G or wired conection. The only thing that works a bit weird is the steering wheel controls, when you have got the car radio on and use the controls to change the parrot it does both together.
Sound quality is spot on though.

Cheers buddy. Shame it doesn't support the controls out of the box, but then I suppose that is what that mini controller is there for...
