warrenty work and remap

just a quick question. My car is going in for a few bits and bobs under warrenty to do with the electrics...

will they detect my remap and also will they wipe it? slightly worried i may lose it?

They can tell how many times the ECU has been flashed I believe

Doubt they'll wipe the map though - They might rlate the electrical faults to the fact you have the remap and expect you to pay for them.

hmmmm,

had the remap for over 10k now and not a problem with that. The faults are fairly basic:

no intermittent wipers
no indicator light flash when locking the car
no 'one touch' up for electric windows
air con doesnt work..even though have had an air-con service..it is the high temp sensor or something?

im worried they might wipe my remap

My One touch stopped working in my Mk3 - Try putting the window up but hold the button in the full "UP" position for several seconds.

That should reprogram the one-touch. Only takes a second to try out, might save on the warranty bill should they void it for the remap

Also the indicator flash can be set up on VagCom I'm sure - Has it specifically stopped working?

so they can tell if the ECU has been flashed? they wouldn't reset it to stock would they?

Unless the faults are directly related to the ECU upgrade, Which they are not (By the sounds of things) they wont do anything.

They can't void your warranty because its been remapped and de-mapping your Ibiza is not something dealers/Mechanics will do

i doubt they spot the map, mines been in a few times and they have not found my map

awesome....the 'one stop' windows work now

so only the wipers, air con and light when locking

got the air-con serviced as though this was the fault by they said it was a temp sensor on the air con unit..so that warrenty work

dealers cant see if your car has been mapped, but if there is a softwware up date for the car and they put it on, you have lost your map!

dont think so car is still boosting to about 23psi....

Then can see how many times your ECU has been reflashed though! So they can make a good guess...

my car was boosting to about 23 and 24 psi before and is doing the same now after the warrenty work so touch wood its all ok!

anyone konw what a normal pd130 should be boosting too

definately didnt road test mine....left it with 72.1 miles on the trip

and picked it up with 72.3 miles...maybe a little spin...
