Mk1 Leon 2.0 FR TDi???

Hello everyone, just joined up as im looking to buy a Leon FR TDi

having bit a of trouble finding a low milage example to be honest, but i have found this one in a used approved SEAT dealerwhich is not too far from me

but im very confused as its a mk1 with the presumed later edition 2.0 16v TDi engine in it?

can anyone shed some light on this or does anyone else own one like this

done a HPi check and even though the car is RED, it comes back as BLACK, spoke to the garage on the phone and he says a lot of SEATS are like this, due to them being destined to be BLACK for example and the customer requests red.

anyway here is the link, hopefully someone will be able to help me out, cheers

something isn't right with that, the engine listed is the fr tfi from the mk2 with 170bhp but the picture is a mk1 which was only ever the 1.9 150 bhp engine

either they have the wrong engine with the wrong car, the wrong picture as its actually a mk2 or someone has done an engine conversion but that seems pointless putting that engine in as the 150 1.9 gets better mpg and near enough the same power

edit - also the year of the car points to a mk2, so i would say its a mk1 picture on a mk2 leon

How does that explain the check I did with that number plate shown, coming back as a 2.0?

I'll go out on a limb here

Private plate is on the old car in the photo, but adverts, HPI & DVLA all show the plate information for the 'new' car that the owner bought (2.0 16v FR 170)

The plate is on the MID database as insured, so that's not right either.

Suggest it's a PD150 FR Mk1 with 57k on the clock (more likely than an 08 car with that many miles)

Crap advert, if you are interested I'd get the dealer to provide the right info

yes you were about right mate, got to the dealers to view the car and it began with NC05 and to my advantage only had 46000 miles on it

so gone ahead and bought it, pick it up on thursday, i was really surprised at the torque, and im looking to get it remapped, anyone know any downfalls of this?

the only thing it may strain is the clutch depending on how it was abused before you purchased it. remap it and use the rev band as you would a petrol. the only slip i get on my standard clutch is 6th gear and low revs. i drive mine hard but it seems to be fine with it.

its a lottery as some members last lest than 1000miles before the clutch gave up!

got mine remapped on friday with revo, has totally transformed the car and its sooo much faster now

mpg will still remain about the same as it is standard if not improve, but the temptation to use the power will be there as well

mine has 46k on the clock and i got it at 37k, have had some clutch slip but as volvic said mine i have only noticed in 5th or 6th at lower revs and its not all the time

its 190bhp, and torque i think about 290-295 lb ft or so

as for the change, its really between about 2.5k to 4k you will feel the difference. goes from being a nice pull to forcing you back into your seat when you put your foot down, its awesome but keep the revs down and it still drives as before
