I noticed the other day that the brembo caliper on my front passenger side has got some dis-colourment on it, like its faded to a whiter shade on one part. After closer inspection it looks like the top film layer of the caliper has peeled off somehow leaving a whiter shade.

Could something have leaked from the black thing at the top of the caliper?

Ive tried washing it thinking it was just some dodgy dirt, but its actually peeled away.

How can i repair this? Can the calipers be sprayed?

Thanks

Sanded them with 150's, then 320's got most of the decal off and apllied some Red VHT paint, then went over it witt VW flash red, then 1 coat of VHT laquer, new decal on and put a few more coats on, they look the nuts, just got the back to do, but will just dust them over with flash red and laquer them. I want to do the fronts again as i feel they arent to the best of my ability, but will do for now they look nice and bright instead of dark red.

I had this problem.
If u sand them down with fine (600-1200 grade) paper, removing as much of the original laquar as u can (I used a fine bit of metal to get under the laquar and seperate it from the paint), use a good degreaser to get rid of the dirt etc, mask off the bits u dont want to laquar, then all u need to do is laquar them.

U DONT need to paint them. Trust me, it just looks that way. Once uv laquared them 4-6 times at 15-20 minute intervals theyl b looking like new! :D

Whic degreaser do you recommend? I have done the relaquering once but couldn't remove all of the dirt so some had to be left there.

Oh il have a look at that then, my other option is to take it somewhere to get done, cos my alloys need a refurb anyway.

Do your rear calipers look faded red? mine are but not sure if they meant to be that colour.

I could do with some new decals like the originals, as I'll be having mine shot-blasted and resprayed from scratch. Can't PM you though it seems. Disabled?
