Car Service help

My car has just passed 29000miles, so it's due it's 30k service. It's a 2007 FR TDi. I've contacted Seat who have quoted me £231, which is apparently an interim service.

I have also contacted Nationwide autocentre who have quoted me £120 for their interim service (which is an oil and oil filter change and a general check over, apparently all that is required?).

What should I be paying and whats involved in the 30k service? I work in the motor trade myself, so getting parts at a discount isn't a problem.

Thanks for your help.

If i remember correctly for the TDi FR & Sport

10K = basic oil & filter service

20K = main service

30K = basic oil & filter service

40K = main service

In addition - 2 yrs = brake fluid change

I went with Kwikfit which did a full service for around £80, I'm not too sure about them on most things but i hung about the car and made sure they did a full service with filter change and brake fluid swap.

Sometimes things can bee too cheap - that's ridiculously cheap if it included the brake fluid change too.

My concern with cheaper deals is that they might not use the right oil for the TDi engine.

For my 56 plate FR TDi I've been quoted £281 for the 30k service + fuel filter and air filter change by Motorvogue Northampton, and for the same thing, local VAG speciailist Unit 18 have quoted me £160 so its something of a no brainer,

Most of the time SEAT dealers do an inferior job and charge 2x more than everybody else. I dont think people would mind giving the franchised dealers a etc few quid if they did the job properly to the highest standard but the local specialists tend to always do a better job
