Funny when mine broke it was the Mrs too, she never paid for it tho :(

Think from memory I got mine for around £30 quid from stealers I then broke the clips on the surround and had to buy that too
:(

how much are the surrounds out of interest? mine was a lady owner before and i think she had nails as it seems to have scratch marks where it has been opened

Mine are like that too!! went down the scrappy and any he had were in the same condition.

Must be a fault with the plastic, not very hard wearing. Prob cost a packet from Seat. Anyone priced them ??

You dont need to sand and spray them, just get off the crappy coating on the top using either boiling water or nailvarnish remover, and rub it with your fingers (not your nails as this will scratch). This leaves just the perfectly smooth gloss black plastic underneath :D

I think it is around £45 for both sides and thats the handle and the plastic surround where the mirror switch is. Better buying rather than spending the time cleaning them IMO.

Think I will just save my 45 quid !! Just buy a tin of spray paint at a fiver instead !! Plus I wouldn't want to get new ones for the same thing to happen again !!

Just do what i said above, the finish from the bare plastic is just as good if not better than you would get from spraying, and its completely FREE!!!

Really? i've not seen any. I thought only the bit around the mirror adjuster was white plastic as it needs the light to shine through to illuminate the switch positions. Obviously my method wouldnt work too well on white plastic. If the rubber coating has started to come away though you should be able to see easily which colour the plastic underneath is before you start.

Nah it's black plastic mate, don't worry. Not that it makes a difference if you paint it.
