Best Re-Map

hi everyone i need a good re-map to beat my showing off mate in his mk4 astra gsi z20let
he only just beats me but i won't to leave him miles behind wheres the best place to go for the best power whats the most your can get out of 1.8 20v t cupra 180 bhp and whats a safe bhp to go to someone said don't go past 260bhp with the engine being standed with no internal upgrades cheers dave

A standard re-map will take you to 210bhp ish. I've used R+tech in hinckly, very pleased.

You can go to 320-350 on standard internals. However, that will require big turbo, injectors, TIP, manifold, FMIC, full exhaust and custom mapping etc etc (and will cost the thick end of £4k)

On a 180 cupra the max you'll get out the turbo is 235-240 depending on dyno lottery. For that you'll need a stage 2 map, which requires a FMIC, TIP, induction mods and full turbo exhaust as a minimum.

You can get around 205-210 from a generic stage one map on a standard car

To be fair, I've never heard any of the big name remaps getting slagged off on here. AMD, Revo, etc.
To be honest I chose Custom-Code because JBS Autodesigns is 5 minutes down the road but I'm glad I did, cant fault it.

From other companys stage 1 maps I'd say thats a bit enthusiastic.

What do they quote for stage 2?

Rather than just peak figures which don't tell you everything, what kind of drive are you after - smoother and revvier or a big turbo shove?

no sorry they dont offer any prices at all you have to apply.
however its only stage one they offer a performance quote

Nah, to be honest, that's not for everyone. However, it is for me and I love being scared stiff when the loud pedal tries to kill me.

It can be a handful and concentration needs to snap in fast as you're catching distant objects extremely quickly but very fun. Driving normally, 1/2 throttle etc, it's quite sedate and comfortable, in fact not too different to a standard car other than the revs climb more smoothly. That's an AMD map I'm referring to by the way, I hear it's alot like REVO but I can't say for sure.

does anyone know apr remaps?

i have an LCR with a stage 2 Apr remap with all the bits youd expect to have bolted on with a stage 2, the last time i had it on the rollers it made 268bhp im just wondering if that sounds right?

it had the ecu reset as i had to have a recond turbo fitted.

should i be seeing more?
