the figures on my gti 8v are poor at the moment.

Ive reset the ecu and cleaned all the TB and induction hose.

What sensor is faulty if the temp gauge isnt hitting half way ?
define poor ha ha is it less than double figures or just into the teens

What fuel are people using in their 16v's, standard unleaded or super? is the super worth the extra cash?

When i had the valver super didnt result in any better economy, just got round the rev range a bit quicker.

If your wanting max economy out of it then standard unleaded (not supermarket) and shift before 2500 rpm until in top gear.

Used to get 40mpg out of mine on a good run

If i wanted good economy i'd be driving a diesel fiesta ;) !!!
Thanks for the reply though, i might fill my next tank with super and see what the difference is, sometimes it takes a while to get up to the 3500rpm power band in the valver if you dont want to drop a gear. Just a bit cautious of overheating it on super really

You wont overheat it. I did chesterfield to torquay in 2.5 hours at a sustained speed in the early hours. Never bothered it.
