ano you'll all shout and say search,but it so damm long

just a few qiuck q's

am looking at getting some 225/45/17 for my tdi sport

on standarsd set up they should fit fine no rubbing right?

also want to no

what about with just collies
what about with just spacer eg 20mmm
and what about with spacers and collies

ano what your saying on my old fezzy i swapped the wheel for slightly wider ones eg just a 10 mill difference iirc and it felt like a diffrent car, still like a boat round corners tho,

i'm finding my change from PZeros 205/40 to T1R 215/40 very good...a lot quieter, softer, not crashy and good grip round bends

well i just got some new alloys today fitted with proxes4's 205/40/17 and the car feels totaly different less crashl less road noise, and grip harder through corners,

Boat round corners?
yeh my old fezzi rolled like a boat when you went round corners lol

I originally wanted to try Proxe4's but da place couldn't get em in...can't say I'm disappointed with the T1Rs :)

Get 215's more tyre on the road ;) better grip :D
Actually for a 10mm difference probably no significant gain in rubber on the road, what you'll do is make the contact patch shorter & wider. This means the tyre will grip for longer but be less progressive when it does let go.

i'm finding my change from PZeros 205/40 to T1R 215/40 very good...a lot quieter, softer, not crashy and good grip round bends
Probably got far more to do with the tyre than the profile. Pirelli tyres are hard wearing tyres generally where Toyo's are softer & much more compliant. If you had put 205/40 T1Rs on I think you'd say exactly the same thing.

i wouldn't say the contact patch would be any shorter, that would be more to do with increased tyre pressure

but all in all, yes i believe it is more to do with the tyre itself, however slightly more width should mean that under stress when going round bends there will be more wall giving slightly better response (which is kind of the way i can describe it) :D

So just to clarify you can run 215's on the front with 225's on the rear ?

& this setup would be fine ?
