FMCL007P - Is this normal?

Have just purchased and installed FMCL007P and am very happy as cars seems a more responsive. However I have a question...

Since doing this it seem that the value is almost recirculating twice (the tssch sound), once when I lift off accelerator, and then again when i change gear?
If I only lift off though i only get this once?

I assume that this is normal as the standard Bosch was doing the same however ts much more noticeable with th 007p on as well as having removed sound deadening from bonnet)

So is this normal?

I had my 007p installed about two weeks ago and it definately sounds a bit different than the standard bosch. It was a bit noisier and more of 'suction' noise when accelerating. I did think it wasnt quite right but the car has been more responsive and its been fine so far. Previous threads about the type of sound mentions 'darth vader' which i think it does resemble :)

What ARE you saying? That's one operation! You lift off and change gear immediately after that.
You're not saying that the gear change generates tssch sounds? There's no air involved in a gear change.
Or, are you saying there's a tssch sound when applying the accelerator again?

No, I'm not being cantankerous for the sake of it.

No, I'm not being cantankerous for the sake of it.

Basically, i lift off accelerator and change gear straight away. however I get a double sound.
One where as soon as i lift off accelerator, and a second as soon as i drop clutch to change gear (so like 1/2 sec after lifting off).

I know that theres no air in the gear change an I'm expecting one big/long release, not two mini ones which i seem to be getting

Do the N249 bypass, open cone induction kit, remove sound deadening & remap, that'll unleash Darth for ya & create a bit of chatter. Can't wait to take mine through the Dartford Tunnel in 2wks :D

I've already removed the sound deadening, and I've got an open filter on there. gonna do bypass soon, then save for remap

Thats why you have 2 sounds then as your hearing the valve and your hearing the sound through the filter to?

If thats the case then how come when I only back off the accelerator, eg don't change, I only get one sound?

Not being pick, just trying to learn as I'm new to forced induction

maybe it makes a noise from the air filter when you apply the clutch as air being sucked up decreases alot more when coasting than in neutral or in gear

Ok, so you saying maybe theres more noise/echo, due to coming through filter when the clutch is drop purely because the revs drop more when changing compared to just lifting off?

This makes sense (i think :think:).

If so has any one encounter this? or would this depend on filter? (Mines currently unknown as it was on when purchased)

i can manipulate it to get two whooses... you can do it by partially releaseing throttle then again completely as you change gear. you get two slightly quieter whooses than one whoosh.
But having said that its very dificult to get it right to do this and it should do it every time..

you can hear the air filter sucking then suddley stop better with a cai sounds like another dv

And again, why would someone change gear like that? :shrug: (Get a WOT box and forget about the lifting off of the accelerator.) :)

When ever the throttle closes, the turbo is spinning so it has to dump the excess pressure that is building up, hence the noise when you let off the throttle, when you change gear your letting off the throttle so it sounds again as its dumping the excess pressure from the turbo spooling up.
