Car cut out while stationary

This has happened twice in 2 weeks now. I have been sat in traffic, in neutral and the engine has just cut out. Is this a battery/alternator problem? The battery light on the dash might be a clue to this problem i think!
Just want some thoughts?

The battery was replaced last year, so surely it can't have had it already?!
Or, maybe its not charged enough? I live 2 miles away from work. (Cue the walk you lazy git posts!)

it wont be the battery cos that only starts the car.It does nothing when the car is running

Hmm. This is odd. I am absolutely clueless to be honest. It was serviced only 2 weeks ago!
Anyone got any thoughts?

Could try cleaning the throttle body. Does it idle a little lupy or just cut out all of a sudden

Does it start again easily?
it could be the speed sensor starting to fail, sits on the gearbox and detects the flywheel speed, but this usually stops the car starting will just turn over but not fire.

That's exactly what it does. I gave two people lifts back from work and the one in the back said "ooo err" when it started to go lumpy, it was juddery and felt like it was going to stall any second.

The car started absolutely fine the second time it stalled/cut out.
The first time though, i had to turn the key three times.

What was very wierd, was that the car felt 'quicker' maybe just smoother through the gears It's hard to explain, but it definately felt different.

Is this a phone call to my Seat garage?

i had this on my ibiza cleaned throttle body and had a sensor reset through vag com and it sorted it happened again the other day now thinking its y dump vale as i dont have a recurculating one
