BAM will it fit???

Hi peeps, I have recently blew my engine up. a have a 2003 LCR 210 engine code AMK but I have got the chance of a 2005 LCR 225 engine code BAM would it fit straight in and what is the differences, am going to keep the car so it having a diffrent engine code won't matter. but a need to decide before the weekend, cany anyone help? thanks michael

I think it would fit but I think you would need the ecu as well

I'm pretty sure there is no difference engine wise apart from the map out of the factory.

Would he need the ecu then because I am replacing an engine at the moment and was advised to get the same code for ecu reasons?

my ecu has a stage 1 chip(for a AMK engine), when or if a get the BAM engine do you think a could get it re-maped and the ecu will be ok? thanks

I am not too sure because mine is re mapped and i was advised to get the same engine code. I think he said there was other reasons but I cant remember them. I was lucky and found the same code engine. Allthough its took him 5 weeks and counting to fit it. I have just had a search but cant seem to find anything.

if you change the ecu you will need to get your keys recoded, you can keep your ecu but you will only be running 210bhp

We recently had this convo in a thread i made, the BAM will fit in without change of anything, the head block etc all the same, if you want the extra 15bhp then its not really worth an ecu tbh, id jus wait till its done and remap it, also white the engine is out make sure to put a clutch kit on.

Wonder if the head is ok as i would buy it? Is it the one where the piston went through the sump?

2 valves broke off didnt they and mushed the head in clyinder 2 and clipped a valve in clyinder 1, i jus bought set of 2nd hand pistons from a guy on here just need a head now.
